In the era of social media, our self-image is stretched to an extreme, and sometimes it can be scary.

My research includes works by my favorite Manga artist, Ito Junji, surrealist artists like Salvador Dalí and Dorothea Tanning, and digital artist Jesse Kanda. In their work, I see how the human body transforms and unfolds in the absence of gravity. The result can be very dehumanizing and provocative. Junji’s manga explores the complex and psychotic pressure of the rigid Japanese society and how it manifests as a deformed human body and violent horror under the male gaze.

Using various fabric manipulations and exaggerated silhouettes, I try to translate the horror and tension into clothing.
